The Winnipeg Goldeyes are bringing back a big arm.
Pitcher Josh Lucas re-signed with the baseball club on Friday. He joined the Fish late last season, appearing in three games with a 1.20 ERA.
Lucas, 30, struck out 13 batters over seven shutout innings in the final game of the year, a victory over Milwaukee.
This will be his 11th year of professional baseball. Lucas was originally drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 21st round in 2010 from State College of Florida.
He spent the majority of his career in affiliated ball, eventually making the big leagues in 2017 where he appeared in five games witht the Cardinals. Stints with Oakland and Baltimore followed in 2018 and 2019.
The 2021 American Association season is set to begin in May, with a schedule expected to be released in the coming weeks.
