The Winnipeg Jets will get Dylan DeMelo into the lineup for the first time this season on Saturday night when they host the Ottawa Senators -- but three other players won't make the cut as they kick off a seven-game homestand at Bell MTS Place.

Patrik Laine will miss a fourth-straight game with an upper body injury that was the subject of more tests Friday, said coach Paul Maurice.

Centre Nate Thompson, who suffered a lower-body ailment in Thursday's 4-1 victory in Ottawa, will also miss the game. He is considered day-to-day.

Kristian Vesalainen will make his 2021 season debut in Thompson's place.

Defenceman Tucker Poolman will also miss a fourth straight game as he remains in COVID-19 protocol.

DeMelo, who missed the first four games following the birth of his child, will likely take the spot of rookie Logan Stanley.
