At least eight police cruisers were parked outside of Premier Brian Pallister's Wellington Crescent home Saturday.
An anti-lockdown group had planned to protest COVID-19 restrictions outside of the premier's house, according to a public Facebook event, but the organizers cancelled the protest at some point prior to Saturday.
One man walked by Pallister's home with what appeared to be a rolled-up protest sign, a Free Press photographer observed. No other protesters were present.
City police deployed a number of units to the premier's house "regarding a demonstration in the area", a Winnipeg Police Service spokesman confirmed to the Free Press in a written statement.
