Two people are facing firearm and drug charges after fleeing from police in a stolen vehicle.
Winnipeg police officers saw the stolen vehicle being driven in the southeast area of the city on Monday. The male driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot. The female passenger remained in the car.
Police subsequently seized a sawed-off shotgun, ammunition, six grams of methamphetamine, $700 in cash, several drug scales, cellphones and fraudulent identification documents.
Lawrence Herve Chevrefils, 40, and Felisha Anna Spence, 32, both of Winnipeg, are facing numerous firearms, drugs and property-related offences. Chevrefils was also charged on two outstanding warrants. Both people were detained in custody.
