The risk of a major spring flood remains low in most parts of Manitoba but depends on weather conditions, Infrastructure Minister Ron Schuler said in a news release Friday.
The spring thaw outlook report, prepared by the Hydrologic Forecast Centre, which monitors water levels, says the Red River Floodway is not expected to be used. The Portage Diversion is expected to be used minimally, reducing the risk of ice-related damage on the Assiniboine River.
The centre plans to release a second spring thaw outlook in late March.
