Provincial health officials announced 135 new cases of COVID-19 and 2 more deaths in Manitoba Tuesday.
Public health officials have reported the first variant of concern case in northern Manitoba.
There are 1,438 active cases in Manitoba, with 138 people in hospital, 33 of them in intensive care.
The five-day test positivity rate is 6 in Manitoba, and 5.7 in Winnipeg.
The new deaths include:
• a man in his 60s from the Winnipeg health region, linked to the B.1.1.7 variant of concern
• a man in his 80s from the Winnipeg health region, linked to the outbreak at Holy Family Home
Of the new cases announced Tuesday, 89 are in the Winnipeg health region, 5 in Southern Health; 2 in Interlake–Eastern; 5 in Prairie Mountain; and 34 in Northern Health.
