Police say they have arrested 26 people and laid over 100 criminal charges against a drug trafficking organization that produced and distributed crack cocaine in Point Douglas.
The investigation, called "Project Matriarch," began in October 2020 and culminated in the seizure of cocaine, crack cocaine, cash, a loaded firearm and other items valued at approximately $2,343,497.
Charges include drug trafficking, proceeds of crime, conspiracy and money laundering.
Criminal Property Forfeiture has filed a statement of claims for 10 residential properties and multiple bank accounts, say police.
Of the 26 people arrested, Police have charged 14, with each person facing at least three charges.
The original target, police say, was 57-year-old Sandra Guiboche. She is one of the 14 people facing charges.
