Provincial health officials announced 211 new cases of COVID-19 and one more death in Manitoba Tuesday.
Laboratory testing of previously reported cases has identified:
• 52 cases of the B.1.1.7 variant
• one case of the P.1 variant
• 10 uncategorized cases
Public health officials have reported a total of 774 variant of concern cases in Manitoba including 675 cases of B.1.1.7, 20 cases of B.1.351, 2 cases of the P.1 variant and 77 uncategorized cases.
There are 1,783 active cases in Manitoba, with 132 people in hospital, 33 of them in intensive care.
The five-day test positivity rate is 6 in Manitoba, and 6.3 in Winnipeg.
Of the new cases announced Tuesday, 138 are in the Winnipeg health region, 7 in Southern Health; 14 in Interlake–Eastern; 27 in Prairie Mountain; and 25 in Northern Health.
