Manitoba reported 79 new COVID-19 infections and no new pandemic deaths on Wednesday.
New cases were detected in all health regions, including 16 cases in Winnipeg, 25 in Southern Health, seven in Interlake-Eastern, 24 in the Northern Health region, and seven in Prairie Mountain Health, according to the province’s pandemic dashboard.
Manitoba’s pandemic death toll was 1,224.
The five-day test positivity rate provincewide was 3.8 per cent and 1,995 tests were performed on Tuesday.
A total of 94 patients were being treated for COVID-19 in hospital, including 15 in intensive care.
Across Manitoba, 923 cases were considered infectious, including 481 which were identified as a variant of concern.
As of Wednesday, 85.8 per cent of eligible Manitobans had at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 82 per cent of them were fully vaccinated.
