Manitoba reported 147 new COVID-19 infections on Wednesday and three additional deaths due to the disease.
Of the cases, 71 were in Southern Health, 33 in Winnipeg, 12 in Northern Health, eight in Interlake-Eastern, and 23 in Prairie Mountain Health, according to the province’s pandemic dashboard.
Public health reported 79 of the new cases were in people not vaccinated against COVID-19, four were in partially vaccinated people, and 64 were in fully immunized people.
Manitoba’s pandemic death toll increased by three to 1,299 on Wednesday. No details about the new fatalities were provided.
The five-day test positivity rate was 5.9 per cent provincially; 2,710 tests were performed on Tuesday.
A total of 153 patients were being treated for COVID-19 in hospital on Wednesday including 22 in intensive care.
Seventy-six per cent of active COVID-19 patients in intensive care on Wednesday were not vaccinated.
