Two men have been charged after an altercation involving a vehicle and a BB gun in Selkirk on Tuesday.
Selkirk RCMP were called to the scene of an assault possibily involving a weapon on Selkirk Avenue near Mercy Street about 3:30 p.m. Police found two suspects, arresting one without incident, while the other allegedly assaulted two officers.
One male suspect had allegedly struck the other man with his vehicle then chased him down while carrying a firearm, later found to be a BB gun, after the man smashed a window on the first suspect's vehcile, according to police, who found the BB gun in the snow near the scene. The second suspect had a homemade weapon — a rag with a large bolt tied to the end.
Justice Langlois, 26, is charged with possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, mischief under $5,000 and failing to comply. Riley Adams, 24, is charged with two counts each of assaulting a police officer and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
