Former Winnipeg mayor Glen Murray wants another shot at leading the city.
Murray has added his name to an already crowded field of 10 other mayoral candidates after registering his campaign on Wednesday.
Murray was first elected mayor in 1998, a role he later resigned in favour of an unsuccessful run for the Liberals in the 2004 federal election. He went on to serve several years in the Ontario legislature as a MPP. Murray also joined the leadership race for the federal Green party in 2020, finishing fourth.
His interest in a return to the mayor’s chair has been the subject of speculation for months.
Mayor Brian Bowman is not running for re-election in the Oct. 26 municipal vote.
