Dr Pepper-inspired lattes, sticky toffee pudding-flavoured drinks, "Not Your Aunt’s Hot Toddy" — these are just a few bevvys Winnipeggers can expect to sip in the Exchange District beginning today for Hot Beverage Week.
Twelve restaurants, bars and cafés will brew warm drinks for the event’s third year. Some drinks are caffeinated, some contain alcohol and all will be part of the week’s competition.
Winnipeggers can vote for their favourite hot beverage on the Exchange District BIZ’s website. The Exchange District BIZ is putting on the event.
"We’re a pretty cool neighbourhood with amazing talent," Lindsay Somers, the Exchange District BIZ’s interim marketing and communications co-ordinator, said in a written statement. "Hot Beverage Week is an invitation to get together and celebrate over delicious drinks."
People can try the various drinks until next Friday.
Acorn Café, Amsterdam Tea Room, Across the Board Game Café, Blufish, Bronuts, Forth Bar, Forth Café, Joe and Lily, Nonsuch Brewery, Parlour Coffee, Patent 5 and Peasant Cookery are participating in Hot Beverage Week.
