The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce held its eighth annual Spirit of Winnipeg Awards gala event on Friday night at the Club Regent Event Centre.
The winners and finalists were representative of businesses and organizations that improve the vitality, energy and prosperity of the city and who "embody the ambitious, innovative, caring spirit" of Winnipeg. They are:
The Unexpected Gift for the Rising Star Award. Other finalists were Bit Space Development and Shut Ur Pie Hole.
Peg City Car Co-op for the Technology Award. Other finalists were MTS and CORE Renewable Energy.
Habitat for Humanity Manitoba for the Environment and Energy Award. Other finalists were FortWhyte Alive and Composites Innovation Centre.
National Leasing for the Wellness and Workplace Culture Award. Other finalists were Blue Cross and Taylor McCaffrey LLP.
Mother Earth Recycling for the Non-profit and Social Enterprise Award. Other finalists were National Screen Institute and the University of Winnipeg.
CentrePort Canada Inc. for the Trade Award. Other finalists were Brydges Property Management and MK Global Trade.
Canadian Museum for Human Rights for the Design and Building Award. Other finalists were Alt Hotel and Fools & Horses.
United Way Winnipeg for the Spirit of Winnipeg Award. Other finalists were Qualico and RBC Royal Bank of Canada.
