SUMMARY:Exploration of Contentment\, Solo Exhibition by Jordan Miller
DESCRIPTION:Opening Reception: September 20\, 1-4pm; artist talk 2pm.\nMeet the Artist: October 17\, 1-4pm.\nRegular hours: Mon-Wed\, 10am to 4pm; Thurs 10-7pm. \nAn inner voice emerged as Exploration of Contentment unfolded. Intuitive abstraction came to life. Paintings developed personalities through colour\, line\, and mark-making. \nLight and dark tones appeared like shifting emotions\, similar to the way a person processes challenges or reflects on past conversations. Discovering forgiveness\, moving beyond identifiable loss\, a contemplative yet positive tension exists. Layers are built up and swiped away. Vibrant\, subdued\, and translucent colours create visual harmony. \nThe quiet solitude of creating is both restorative and energizing\, providing a fulcrum of balance within an abstracted mind filled with noise. \nExploration of Contentment reflects on resilience and acceptance\, inviting viewers to consider their own relationship with the subtle ways contentment can coexist with uncertainty\, change\, and the complexities of modern life. \n(see “blog” at www.jordanlmiller.com for longer description)

SUMMARY:CarneyVal Gathering for Fun and Peace in Canada - 27th September 2026
DESCRIPTION:Gather for a family-friendly Carnival on peace. Do you think Carney’s Liberals are standing strong against Trump? Think again! \nPlease join us on the 27th of September 2026\, 1–4pm\, at the Magnus Eliason Recreation Centre at 430 Langside St\, Winnipeg for a lighthearted take on current politics. \nDo you think Carney’s Liberals are standing strong against Trump? Think again! Canada is still buying U.S. fighter jets and not fulfilling Trudeau’s 2015-promises all while the Prime Minister has a conflict of interest disclosure longer than the media can list in a sound bite. With an eye toward collective momentum\, the CarneyVal Organizing Committee invites you to be part of an engaging\, enlivened peaceful\, and entertaining event to organize political action. There will be family friendly games\, activities like Bingo\, speeches on politics\, and performances that focus on opposition to Mark Carney’s brand of austerity politics.
