SUMMARY:Spring School Series - Walking Tours
DESCRIPTION:This spring\, Turtle Tours is inviting school groups to The Forks for an Indigenous-led walking tour rooted in place\, story\, and connection. \nInstead of learning from a textbook\, students walk the land where thousands of years of history happened. Through storytelling and discussion\, they learn about treaties\, trade\, the rivers\, and Indigenous perspectives from guides who are connected to this place. \nIt’s a simple but powerful shift\, students don’t just learn about history\, they experience it. \nThe 60-minute tour is designed for Grades 4–12 and supports what students are already learning in the classroom\, including Social Studies\, Indigenous Studies\, Geography\, Civics\, Economics\, and oral storytelling. \nSpring bookings are open for April\, May\, and June\, with group sizes up to 30 students. \nFor teachers looking for something meaningful\, local\, and actually engaging for their students… this is it.

SUMMARY:Shakespeare in the Ruins presents - As You Like It
DESCRIPTION:“The fool doth think he is wise\, but the wise man knows himself to be a fool.” \nRunning June 4 to July 5 at the beautiful Trappist Monastery Provincial Heritage Park\, As You Like It is one of two productions by Shakespeare in the Ruins this summer. Shakespeare’s beloved comedy of exile\, disguise\, and romance follows Rosalind and a cast of unforgettable characters as they escape into the Forest of Arden\, where identities shift\, love blooms\, and old conflicts give way to reconciliation. Along the way are witty fools\, mistaken identities\, and one of Shakespeare’s most famous speeches: “All the world’s a stage.” \nThe natural beauty of the Trappist grounds provides the perfect setting for the wild magic of Arden Forest\, making this joyful celebration of love\, transformation\, humour\, and human connection feel as though it has stepped directly out of the landscape itself. \nUnder the theme “Love & Legends\,” SIR’s 2026 season brings two timeless stories\, As You Like It and An Iliad (opening June 18)\, into conversation: the pastoral and the epic\, the laughter of love and the silence after battle. \nShakespeare in the Ruins is known for transforming the historic ruins into a dynamic open-air stage where audiences are surrounded by nature\, history\, and live performance under the open prairie sky. The close proximity between performers and audience creates an intimate and engaging atmosphere that makes every show feel immediate\, alive\, and unforgettable. As a bonus\, we provide the chairs\, and drinks\, snacks\, and merch are available on-site! All you need to do is show up (with your ticket) – you can plan your visit on our website. \nThese performances and the outdoor setting are ideal for all ages\, so bring your family and friends! \nTickets are on sale now. For showtimes and ticket information\, visit www.shakespeareintheruins.com or call the box office at 204-891-9160.

SUMMARY:Shakespeare in the Ruins presents – An Iliad
DESCRIPTION:This searing\, cheeky and moving adaptation of Homer’s epic poem The Iliad brings the ancient story of the Trojan War vividly into our time. A single poet conjures the fury of Achilles\, the grief of Priam\, the stolen Helen – whose beauty launched a thousand ships. A world where conflict consumes entire nations\, and longing becomes lament. \nRunning June 18 to July 5 at the beautiful Trappist Monastery Provincial Heritage Park\, An Iliad is the second of two productions by Shakespeare in the Ruins this summer under the theme “Love & Legends.” As You Like It runs from June 4 to July 5. \nAn Iliad serves as a reunion production\, bringing together Director Christopher Brauer\, solo performer Rodrigo Beilfuss\, and live music/soundscape by Métis drummer\, percussionist\, multi-instrumentalist\, and singer-songwriter Daniel Roy. \nIt will be a very intimate production set against the natural beauty of the Ruins.
