Historic Hidden Gem
Caron Park is nestled at the end of Cass Street in Charleswood. The historic park offers peace and serenity for nature lovers, along with mind-bending nature trails. The main trail plunges through the forest while thinner trails meander into the woods. It's breathtaking to stand on the trails near the Assiniboine River and watch the sunset through the trees. For those who like a fitness test, sturdy wooden parallel beams may be just what the physiotherapist ordered.
Caron Park features a beautifully restored farmhouse, originally built by settlers for whom the park is named -- although it is closed to the public. Caron Park offers a contemporary play structure, along with metal swings that may have seen historic days themselves. The park grounds are neatly kept, and perfect for flying a kite or packing a picnic lunch.
To find the park, head west on Roblin Boulevard and turn right onto Barker Boulevard. Cass Street is about a two-minute drive. To find out more about the history of Caron Park visit:
