EARLY winter weather is being blamed for the death of a woman in a two-vehicle collision near Neepawa on Friday.

Neepawa RCMP said it was snowing heavily and roads were slippery and slush-covered when the two vehicles collided about 9:45 a.m.

A Ford pickup truck was heading north on Highway 5, south of Neepawa, when it struck the driver’s side of a Chevrolet Impala that didn’t stop at a stop sign at the turnoff to Lake Irwin.

The woman in the car was rushed to hospital but died later. The driver of the pickup truck was uninjured.
