IT was one-term-and-out for Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation chief Jimmy Moore as the rival who brought the community a hydro dam deal was returned to office.
Moore lost Tuesday’s election to Jerry Primrose, who had been chief from 1994 to 2006 before he lost to Moore.
The unofficial results show Primrose won in a landslide Tuesday, garnering 800 votes to 362 for Moore.
Five of the six incumbent councillors were returned to office: Marcel Moody, Pat Linklater, Ron D. Spence, D’Arcy N. Linklater Sr. and Shirley Linklater.
Incumbent councillor Agnes Melinda Spence, who had won three straight elections dating back to 1998, lost to newcomer Joe Moose by 22 votes.
