A former hub of socialization in St. Claude was fully destroyed by fire today.
At 3 a.m., Treherne RCMP and the St. Claude Fire Department responded to a fire at a former business that had been a combination restaurant, motel and bar on First Street.
RCMP arrived on scene and found the vacant structure fully involved in flames.
The investigation into the cause continues with the assistance of the Manitoba Office of the Fire Commissioner.
RCMP and OFC investigators remain on scene. Damage estimates are not currently available. However, the structure is a complete write-off. There no injuries reported.
St. Claude is about 100 kilometres southwest of Winnipeg.
