Mom jailed for leaving gun within reach of 5-year-old who shot younger sister

1. Police believe that the bullet that was fired came from a kitchen drawer, in which they found dozens more.

2. On top of the fridge, they also found a box of bullets and a loaded magazine.

3. A sharpened samurai-style sword was stashed in a hallway alcove.

4. In the basement, police found scattered ammunition, plus they uncovered a crossbow, a compound bow and arrows on a table.

5. In a closet by the back door, police found a shotgun as well as the rifle that was used.

6. Police found another two rifles in the master bedroom closet.

7. Police found a rifle lying on a bed in the master bedroom, which also contained a crib.

8. A bullet hole shot through the door to the girl’s bedroom showed that the gun had to have been held at a low angle. Inside the room, police found a spent slug and traces of blood.
