Over $25,000 in mowers and tillers was stolen from an Arborg John Deere dealership on Monday night, plus the truck and trailer used to haul away the stolen goods.
The theft occurred at the Enns Brothers John Deere commercial lot on Highway 68 sometime between 6 p.m. June 2nd and 6 a.m. on June 3rd.
The items taken included two John Deere riding mowers, two zero turn lawn movers, two push mowers, one Ariens rototiller, a white GMC 2500 pickup truck and a white Triton Tow Dolly trailer.
The truck was owned by an employee of the business.
Dealership manager Ron Johnston valued the stolen items, not including the truck, at $25,000.
Johnston said similar robberies have occurred in Arborg targeting dealerships. Last year, a marine dealership was hit and the year before ATV’s and mowers were stolen from another local business.
"It seems to be a trend," Johnston said. "It happens once a year in Arborg, switching between businesses."
