Readers' Choice: You select the top news stories of 2019

Hey there, time traveller!
This article was published 10/12/2019 (241 days ago), so information in it may no longer be current.

The countdown is on to the end of 2019 and that means the Winnipeg Free Press is again counting on our readers to select the top stories of the year.

Over the past 12 months, our editors have made the calls about the stories that deserved our top headlines.

But the final decision now goes to our readers.

We’ve nominated five stories in each category, but you can also nominate stories of your own choice. Feel free to include a comment explaining your reasons for the stories you’ve selected. We will make use of some readers’ comments when we unveil the winning selections as the year draws to a close.

You have until noon Wednesday, Dec. 18 to give us your nominations.

Visit to make your selections.

The Winnipeg Free Press invites you to share your opinion on this story in a letter to the editor. A selection of letters to the editor are published daily.

To submit a letter:
• fill out the form on this page, or
• email, or
• mail Letters to the Editor, 1355 Mountain Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R2X 3B6.

Letters must include the writer’s full name, address, and a daytime phone number. Letters are edited for length and clarity.
