Two dead after head-on collision on Highway 44

Two people died and two others were injured in a head-on collision on Highway 44 near Seddon's Corner Saturday afternoon.

RCMP say around 2:30pm, Lac du Bonnet RCMP received a report of a serious two-vehicle collision on Highway 44, approximately one kilometre east of Seddon’s Corner.

The initial investigation determined that a car, with three occupants, was travelling east on Highway 44, when it crossed into oncoming traffic and hit a pickup truck heading westbound.

The driver of the car, a 24-year-old female from the RM of St. Clements, was seriously injured. The two passengers – a 24-year-old female from the RM of St. Clements, and a 23-year-old male from Winnipeg – were pronounced deceased.

The driver of the truck, a 55-year-old male, and the 50-year-old female passenger, were treated for minor injuries at the scene.

RCMP continue to investigate.
