At least 35 volunteers showed up this morning to help move furniture to aid newly arriving Syrian refugees.
Volunteers included a diverse mix of Winnipeg police, Hutterites and others, to move items donated by the former Place Louis Riel to help newcomers.
About 15 Syrians were also on hand.
Place Louis Riel is donating contents from 34 furnished suites to help Syrian families get settled. It is transforming into a luxury apartment complex called Antares Luxury Suites.
