If ever there was an excuse to quit, it's now. Effective Tuesday night, the tobacco tax went up to from 25 cents to 29 cents per cigarette. Taxes of fine cut tobacco and raw leaf tobacco also increased four cents per gram. The province says the increase will see full-year revenue of $17.2 million.
The cost of a fishing licence will double this year to $10. The extra revenue will in part go towards fisheries programs to stock lakes and rivers.
Various boiler and other inspection fees increase from $20 to $125 depending on the inspection.
New business owners
Various fees for corporation and business name registration increase from $5 to $50 depending on the service.
