An 18-year-old man has died and three young people have been seriously hurt while riding all-terrain vehicles in Manitoba this weeked.
Westman RCMP are investigating a fatal off-road vehicle collision that occurred Saturday afternoon near the intersection of Highway 21 and the main road on the Sioux Valley Dakota First Nation, 50 kilometres west of Brandon.
Officers determined an 18-year-old man from Sioux Valley was riding an ATV northeast towards Highway 21 when he lost control and was thrown from the ATV.
He died while on the way to the hospital. A forensic collision reconstructionist is involved with the investigation.
In a separate incident, around 6:30 p.m. Saturday, police responded to a call about a serious ATV rollover near the floodway south of Winnipeg.
Police said three youths were rushed to hospital with serious injuries after the crash near St. Mary’s Road and Courchaine Road in Duff Roblin Provincial Park.
Police continue to investigate.
