Winnipeg police have identified the victims in the double slaying in Charleswood discovered on Friday.

The deceased are Natasha Jeffrey, 37, and Ronald Dabreo, 39. Police say they do not know the relationship between the two.

At one point, Jeffrey had been in a relationship with Seymour Lloyd Sharpe, 44. Sharpe turned himself in to police on Friday. Police later charged Sharpe with two counts of second-degree murder. Both Sharpe and Jeffrey are originally from Jamaica.

Police would not release a timeline of events that would explain when the killings occurred and how soon Sharpe reported them.

Police confirm the killings were related to domestic issues but would not say more. They would not divulge whether a weapon was used in the slayings. "There's no question a violent incident did occur," said police spokesman Const. Jason Michalyshen. The cause of the deaths is pending the results of autopsies.

Information provided by Sharpe led police to the scene of the slaying at 4317 Roblin Blvd., where the severely injured bodies of a man and woman were found inside. Police discovered the bodies just before 8:30 a.m. Friday.

Jeffrey took over ownership of the Roblin Boulevard home last fall after her former husband, Michael Jeffrey, died in Calgary. The couple married in 1995 but separated in 2007, according to court documents. They had no children.

Jeffrey and Sharpe dated each other over several years. The relationship caught the attention of police and justice officials in 2009 when Jeffrey obtained a restraining order against Sharpe's ex-wife, claiming the woman was stalking and threatening her, the Free Press has learned. Several neighbours said they believe Jeffrey was living in the home with two adult men.

Last weekend, Jeffrey and Sharpe hosted a wedding reception in their backyard for close friends.
