Union members and community groups will gather at Winnipeg city hall today before noon to support airport workers who have been on strike since the beginning of summer.
The 11:50 a.m. rally is being organized by the Public Service Alliance of Canada.
About 150 airport employees — including managers, tradespeople and administrative workers — went on strike July 24. The members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada’s Union of Canadian Transportation Employees have been without a contract since June 30, 2016, and cite issues such as work being contracted out to non-union employees, wages and pension-plan changes.
