Police are investigating after a woman's body was found in a pool of water in a northwestern Manitoba community.
The body of the unidentified woman was discovered partially submerged behind an embankment on the Opaskwayak Cree Nation, and RCMP from the Pas were called to investigate around 5:30 p.m. Monday, police said in a news release.
No foul play is suspected, but officers from the RCMP's forensic identification and general investigation sections are still investigating, Manitoba RCMP spokesman Sgt. Bert Paquet said in the news release.
"While thorough investigative steps have not revealed foul play so far, officers from several specialized sections continue to investigate this case," he said.
No other details were available Tuesday.
