Coun. Fielding steps down from EPC

Hey there, time traveller!

Coun. Scott Fielding (St. James-Weston-Brooklands) announced Friday that he is stepping down from the city’s executive policy committee.

Fielding said he couldn’t support another property tax increase and thus resigned from the city’s most influential committee.

"The mayor phoned me (Thursday night) asking if I support the budget," Fielding said. "I thought about it and decided it might be better to step back.

"I wish (Mayor Katz) all the best, and I’ve been a supporter of him for a number of years."

Fielding will retain his seat at city council, representing the St. James, Brooklands and Weston areas.
