Top-of-mind issues for Burrows residents

I want to welcome Manitoba students back to school and wish that you all have a great school year. I hope that everyone took advantage of their summer holidays and enjoyed them with their friends, family and loved ones.
Over the summer I was able to spend time meeting and speaking with Burrows constituents through door-knocking and various events. Talking to people on the doorstep helped me learn more about people’s concerns and their ideas for how we can make Burrows and Manitoba an even better place to live. My team and I also spoke with many different people at meet-and-greet events which were held by my office at various locations including Northwood Community Centre, O.V. Jewitt School and Robertson School playground.
I noticed that several issues were top of mind for constituents. Most were related to education, health care, infrastructure and, especially, the cost of living. Manitobans have been facing challenging times because of increases to the cost of living, which the Progressive Conservative government has only made worse through Hydro rate hikes.
People also expressed their disapproval with the government. Burrows residents are fed up with the PC cuts to health care. They’re not alone either — people across Manitoba are tired of this government’s attack on the health care system. Thanks to this PC government, Manitoban families and seniors have reduced access to health-care facilities. I have always stood up against the PC government’s cuts to health care and will continue to do so.
Manitobans deserve better health care, better education, and an affordable cost of living. These are exactly the type of issues that the Manitoba NDP is fighting for on your behalf.
