The Transcona Council for Seniors was established in 1993 and its primary role is to assist seniors to remain living in the community as long as possible.
The goal is to link adults aged 55 years and older with resources that can assist with daily living and enhance quality of life. They offer activities and assist with referrals to programs in the Transcona area.
The council organizes education classes, support groups, outings and health and wellness programs for Transcona seniors and provides information on topics relevant to today.

This month, the council is offering an income tax clinic at Access Transcona (845 Regent Ave.) This is a special program in that it is open to low-income residents of Transcona, regardless of their age.
Please note that there is a charge for some of the activities and events, while others are available at no cost to the individual.
If you have a few hours a week to spare, the Transcona Council for Seniors is looking for volunteers. Volunteer opportunities include clerical work, meal preparation, event planner, board member and driver.
