Super-Spike returned to Maple Grove Rugby Park on July 22 and 23.
After a pandemic-induced hiatus, 280 volleyball teams and more than 2,100 volleyball players took part in the recent event, which combines a large outdoor volleyball tournament with a weekend-long concert series. This year’s headliners included Delaney Jane and Rêve.
Now in its 19th year, Super-Spike is also a significant fundraiser for non-profit organizations. Funds raised from this year’s event will be used to support Volleyball Manitoba and its grass roots programs, United Way Winnipeg through the event’s 50/50 raffle, and Shine Toba, a fundraising arm for the fight against cystic fibrosis.
