SUMMARY:Lux et Veritas Floreant / Let Light and Truth Flourish
DESCRIPTION:Gallery 1C03 celebrates its 40th anniversary with an exhibition program that takes the University of Winnipeg motto “Let Light and Truth Flourish” as its focus. Featured artists are UWinnipeg alumni who have used their creative voices to contend with themes of identity\, reconciliation\, the surreal and the sublime. A group exhibition in the gallery runs September 10 to November 13\, an evening program of short films at Dave Barber Cinematheque takes place on the evening of September 25\, and a screening of Rhayne Vermette’s feature film\, “Levers” will be held on campus the evening of October 26. Public conversations with selected artists are also planned. Artists include KC Adams\, Dee Barsy\, Steve Bates\, Ian Bawa\, Scott Benesiinaabandan\, Mahlet Cuff\, Christina Hajjar\, Jaimie Isaac\, Judah Iyunade\, Mike Maryniuk\, Kegan McFadden\, Shivanya Ra\, Paul Robles\, Kevin Settee\, Leslie Supnet\, Ted Turner\, Rhayne Vermette\, and Melanie Zurba. The gallery is open weekdays 12:00 to 4:00 pm. We are closed on statutory holidays. Our venue is wheelchair accessible and admission is free.
