The provincial electoral boundaries will look a little different when Manitoba heads to the polls in 2020.
On Dec. 14, Elections Manitoba announced that the divisions boundaries commission submitted their report on provincial electoral boundaries to the Lieutenant-Governor and the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly.
As a result, the commission has changed 56 of the 57 electoral division boundaries and 14 of 57 electoral division names. The changes will be in effect for the next provincial election, on Oct. 6, 2020.
Concordia’s boundary extends from the Canadian National Railway line in the south, follows Lagimodiere north to Regent Avenue, jogging west to Panet Road and north to McLeod Avenue. The west boundary follows Raleigh Street south from McLeod across Nairn Avenue and follows the railway tracks to the CN line.
Bounded by the Red River in the west, Elmwood’s boundaries extend east to Raleigh, south to the Canadian Pacific Railway line, and north to Rossmere Crescent west of Henderson Highway, McLeod Avenue east of Henderson as far as Rossmere Country Club.
Kildonan-River East’s southern boundary begins north of Rossmere Crescent on the east side of the Red River and Leila Avenue as far west as Main Street up to Highland Avenue before following the CP Rail line north to Glencairn Road. On the east side of the Red River, the northern boundary follows Glenway Avenue east to Gateway Road, while the southern boundary follows the Chief Peguis Trail from Gateway to Henderson Highway.

The southern boundary steps down from Day Street along Kildare Avenue West to Hoka Street, down to Rosseau Avenue West back to Plessis. The eastern boundary then follows Plessis Road all the way to Dugald Road, which forms the southern boundary until Lagimodiere Boulevard. The western boundary is Lagimodiere as far as Regent Avenue West, then Panet north to Grassie.
The electoral division of Red River North includes the RMs of East St. Paul. Its western boundary extends north along the eastern bank of the Red River up to Lake Winnipeg as far north as Grand Beach.
Rossmere’s southern boundary abuts the northern boundaries of Elmwood, Concordia, and Radisson. Radisson’s western boundary follows Kildonan-River East’s eastern boundary. Its northern boundary follows Glenway Avenue from Gateway Road in the west to Springfield Road and Plessis Road in the east.
