Winnipeggers are advised to be on the lookout for a car stolen during a carjacking in Transcona.
Between 3:30 and 4 a.m. on Sept. 15, a 33-year-old male victim was travelling westbound on Kildare Avenue when he slowed for a four-way stop sign at Winona Street.
As he was slowing, a male suspect jumped in front of the car and a second suspect made his way into the back seat. The first suspect came in through the driver’s side door and made the victim sit in the passenger seat.
The suspects told the victim they had a firearm, and drove the victim to the intersection of Fermor Avenue and St. Mary’s Road. The suspect in the driver’s seat threatened the victim and demanded cash.
They then drove to a bank in the 1100 block of Pembina Highway, where the victim withdrew cash and gave it to the suspects. The victim escaped uninjured, and the suspects fled in the victim’s 2012 blue Mazda3 GS Sky with Manitoba plate GTX 310. The car has not yet been recovered.
