If you’re not fit to drive your sleigh, let Rudy take the reins.
On Nov. 14, Safety Services Manitoba and Manitoba Public Insurance launched the 2014 Operation Red Nose (ORN) campaign. The 20th annual free of charge designated driver service encourages the public to avoid driving drunk by ensuring that both you and your vehicle get home safely.
"Safety Services Manitoba works side by side with Manitoba Public Insurance and 10 communities to make Manitoba’s roads safer," said Judy Murphy, president and CEO of Safety Services Manitoba in a press release
"ORN is one of our many joint initiatives with MPI to encourage Manitobans to drive responsibly — in this case, choosing the safe way home means knowing when to let Rudy take the reins."
ORN opens in Winnipeg on Fri., Nov. 28 and runs nightly from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m., wrapping up on New Year’s Eve. Donations are accepted, with the proceeds going to various Manitoba youth programs.
In Winnipeg, ORN patrons can call 204-957-NOSE (6673) and MTS cellphone users can dial #NOSE for ORN service.
