Hey there, time traveller!
This article was published 07/12/2021 (539 days ago), so information in it may no longer be current.

I want to take this opportunity to recognize and thank some of the incredibly talented student artists in St. Vital. For the second year in a row, I am happy to display some amazing artwork created by young artists from Glenlawn Collegiate and Dakota Collegiate.

Thank you to Jillian B., Cindy Y. and Ashley A. from Glenlawn Collegiate, as well as Jamie H., Mahrukh K., Kyle G., Hanna P., Danielle E., Queenie P. and Bella from Dakota Collegiate. Thank you also to their teachers Shawna McLeod and Cloyd Barth for their work to inspire these creative students.

Since the Manitoba Legislature currently has a hybrid in-person and virtual sitting format, I have been delighted that some of the artwork has been visible as a backdrop during my participation in the virtual Legislature. I have received compliments on the beautiful artwork from my colleagues in the Legislature, and I proudly tell them that it was made by local St. Vital students.

Supplied photo St. Vital MLA Jamie Moses shows off the artwork of local high school students in his constituency office.

If you’d like to see all the wonderful artwork, please feel free to stop by my constituency office during office hours at 878 St. Mary’s Ave.

Now that COVID-19 vaccines have been approved by Health Canada for children aged five to 11, I am encouraging all those eligible to get vaccinated as soon as possible. This expansion of eligibility to all school-aged children is fantastic news. By vaccinating thousands of young Manitobans we will be able to better control the spread of COVID in schools to keep students, our school staff, and our communities safe. I know my wife and I will have our kids vaccinated as soon as they are eligible.

Please book vaccine appointment sonline or by phoning the vaccine call centre at 1-844-626-8222. If you need assistance with booking a vaccine appointment, please contact my office.

I will continue to advocate for increased accessibility to the vaccines. This would include supports for school-based vaccination clinics across Louis Riel School Division and Manitoba. This would help increase the pace that newly eligible children become fully vaccinated. As more and more Manitobans step up to protect themselves and their communities, including our littlest ones, the safer our loved ones will be during the Winter and holiday season.

As always, you can also get in touch with me for assistance by email at jamie.moses@yourmanitoba.ca or by phone at 204-219-5407. Stay safe.
