A local city councillor has partnered with several city businesses to make a $10,000 private donation to Winnipeg Harvest. According to a news release, Coun. Markus Chambers (St. Norbert-Seine River) has joined forces with Hollywood Limousine, Creekside Transport and BVD Petroleum to make the donation in support of families experiencing hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic. In light of the strain experienced by many individuals in the last few months, the owners of the businesses — Ricky Barr (Hollywood Limousines), Ravi Chahal (Creekside Transport) and Bikram Dhillon (BVD Petroleum) — approached Chambers, expressing a desire to help community members, and Winnipeg Harvest was identified as a key stakeholder helping families hit hard by the unstable economy. People who are able to donate to the non-profit organization are encouraged to do so. Pictured: a cheque presentation on June 19 at Winnipeg Harvest, located at 1085 Winnipeg Ave.
