The Good News Fellowship Christian Reformed Church will soon become more accessible.
The church, located at 891 St Mary’s Rd., is in line to receive $28,120 for a project to create accessible entrances and washrooms for individuals with disabilities.
The funding — through the Enabling Accessibility Fund (EAF) to improve accessibility for Canadians with disabilities — was announced by Saint Boniface MP Shelly Glover on behalf of Minister of State for Social Development Candice Bergen on July 31.
Also, the Corporation de développement économique Riel will receive $2,000 for a motion-sensor activated automated door opener.
Officials say many of the projects included in this latest rollout will enhance access for children, veterans or seniors with disabilities.
