Grab your gloves and shovels: the Harte Trail is hosting its semi-annual tree planting event on Sat., Oct. 2, from 11:00 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Participants will meet at the west portion of the trail at the Van Roon Prairie Garden near Dale Boulevard. Workers from the City of Winnipeg natural services branch will be on hand to lead planting demonstrations.

The tree holes will be pre-dug. Volunteers  at this sixth annual event are invited to choose a tree, prepare the roots and planting site, and fill the hole. Visitors can stay for as long as they like and plant up to a handful of trees.
