Stéphane Doucet, of the Bar None Prison Rideshare Project, shows some of the books being collected for a giant book and bake sale on Sat., May 27 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Daniel McIntyre St. Matthews Community Association, 823 Ellice Ave., in partnership with the organization’s annual rummage sale.

Proceeds will be split between the Manitoba Library Association’s Prison Libraries Committee and the Bar None Prison Rideshare Project. This group co-ordinates volunteer drivers who offer free rides for Winnipeggers visiting their loved ones in the Headingley Correctional Centre, Women’s Correctional Centre in Headingley and Stony Mountain Institution.
