ASRC activities for September
The Aboriginal Senior Resources Centre is hosting Cash Bingo Wednesdays until November.Dates are: Sept. 28, Oct. 12 and 26, and Nov. 9 and 23 starting at 1 p.m.On Thurs., Sept. 29, ASRC invite all to take part at a luncheon followed by a yard, bake and arts and craft sale on from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.Find handmade walking and talking sticks, canes, clothing and more. The West Kildonan Library (365 Jefferson Ave.) is having a workshop to teach people to be organized and increase their living space.Amy Krahn and Kusela Guitap from the Healthy Aging Resource Team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority will provide tips on tackling clutter as well as resources that may be of help.The workshop happens on Fri., Sept. 23 from 2 to 3 p.m. Call 204-986-4384 or visit the library to register.
Prairie Boy Productions, Graffiti Art Programming and Freeze Frame Media Arts Centre got together and made a documentary starring local radio host Ismaila Alfa.Graffiti Stories is about Graffiti Art Programming and four youth who found themselves on the urban arts scene.The event will have music performances, workshops and screening of the documentary.The event takes place at Graffiti Gallery (109 Higgins Ave.) at 6 p.m.The majority of proceeds from DVD sales at this event will be donated to Graffiti Arts Programming.
