Enjoying the season in the community

Happy new year everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season with families and friends.

Over the holiday season I was fortunate enough to attend some community events which I believe deserve praise and recognition for bringing families, friends, colleagues, and coworkers together.

I was very delighted to be part of 204 Neighbourhood Watch’s fifth anniversary celebration and the unveiling of a new chapter – the 204 Volunteers Caring Manitobans in Action. Thank you very much for your commitment for community safety and community service.

I was also able to attend a celebration for the Seven Oaks Filipino Employees Association held in honour of a decade of success. SOFEA is a valuable asset to the Seven Oaks School Division and each of you help us achieve our common goals for the community. Thank you very much for dedicating 10 years of hard work and perseverance.

It was an honour to attend Filipino Teachers in Manitoba’s Christmas get-together. It was a pleasure to meet you all in person and be part of this festive event. I would also like to thank you for working tirelessly to ensure that students have the opportunity and support to learn.

I was happy to attend and excited to see many community members at other events, including the Association of Ilocano in Manitoba Christmas gathering and a program called Holiday Magic, a holiday celebration for newcomer that was organized by Seven Oaks Immigrant Services at Garden City Collegiate.

More than anything, I want to thank all the community members and organizers who put so much effort into making communities feel whole again this past year. Without your tireless efforts, our community would have struggled to make last year as memorable as it was for so many of us

Again, I want to wish you all the best in the new year, and I hope to see and hear from many of you soon. Please follow my Facebook page for updates and reach out to my office via email at mintu.sandhu@yourmanitoba.ca or phone 204-417-3486 if you have any concerns.
