Get ready for cottage season
Cottage Country’s 14th annual Lake and Cabin Show is set to run from March 17 through 19 at Red River Exhibition Place (3977 Portage Ave.).
Exhibitors and tradespeople will be on hand, displaying everything you might need to plan, build, renovate, decorate or enjoy your cottage, cabin or lake home – from interior designers to builders, landscapers to marine equipment suppliers.
Show hours are: March 17, 2 to 9 p.m.; March 18, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; March 19, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, with kids 13 and under admitted free. For more information, visit lakeandcabinshow.ca
Charity Chili Cook-off
The St. Norbert’s Farmers’ Market will be holding its inaugural Chili Cook-Off for Charity on Saturday, March 25.
Attendees will be able to sample over a dozen different chilis, chock full of local ingredients. After guest taste the chilis, they will cast vosts for the winner. All proceeds go to the winner’s charity of choice.
Tickets for the event come with an entry into a draw for tickets to see Shania Twain at Canada Life Centre and a one-night stay at Inn at The Forks.
Vendors will also be selling their regular array of veggies, meats, beverages, soaps, and various other products.
Grosse Isle Heritage Site seeking donations
A longtime resident of the Grosse Isle Community has made a donation of $1,000 to the Grosse Isle Heritage Site, a registered charity, and is challenging others in the community to up their support for the site.
Funds would go towards the completion of the washroom building and Grandpa Jim’s Playground.
