Students at École Riverview School are starting off the new school year by getting out of the classroom.<\/p>\n

On Sept. 25 the ribbon was officially cut on the new outdoor learning space at the school.<\/p>\n

The space incorporates Aboriginal themes and teachings, water cisterns, native plants and more. The space was planned by Riverview’s parent advisory committee and construction began in June.<\/p>\n

“We’re very excited about the opportunity to use this space to engage our students and add an entire new level of interest to their education,” principal Grant Bridgeman said. “Future plans include adding animal silhouettes to the outside gymnasium wall representing the Seven Teachings.”<\/p>\n

École Riverview School is a nursery to Grade 6 school with over 325 students and is part of the Winnipeg School Division.<\/p>
