Over 200 people were in attendance to celebrate the Liberal win in Winnipeg South Centre.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It&rsquo;s great, it&rsquo;s great!&rdquo; Carr supporter Darshan Kaila said. &ldquo;I&rsquo;ve known Jim for a long time and he&rsquo;s been very involved in the community.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Kaila, who spent the evening door knocking before arriving at the Liberal headquarters, said the win was expected. Though he predicted a Liberal sweep nationally, the majority mandate was still a surprise.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It means we get to make a change and get rid of Harper,&rdquo; the self-described hardcore Liberal said.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We stick together,&rdquo; he said of the overwhelming win.<\/p>\n<p>According to Elections Canada, voter turnout in the riding was at 76.75 per cent. After all polls had reported, Carr had earned over 17,000 more votes than Bateman and NDP candidate Matt Henderson had pulled in 4,727 votes. Green Party candidate Andrew Park took 1,914.<\/p>\n<blockquote class='full'><p>\u201cWe stick together\u201d &#8211; Darshan Kaila<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Carr&rsquo;s official agent Jaclyn Sault said the change in leadership at both the local and national level is exciting to see and she never doubted the local momentum. This is the first time Sault has held a position on a political campaign and to great results.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I&rsquo;m excited he won and I&rsquo;m not surprised,&rdquo; she said. &ldquo;He had a great team behind him and he&rsquo;s a great candidate.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I didn&rsquo;t necessarily expect this nationally,&rdquo; she added. &ldquo;I think it&rsquo;s time for real change in Canada.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Carr, who celebrated the win with his family at his side, was president of the Business Council of Manitoba prior to stepping down to run for public office. They&rsquo;re still my MP.&rdquo;<\/p><div
