\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t“They are designed to accommodate single parents, those who are looking to downsize, and to retire,” Comack said.<\/p>\n
Lots in Prairie View Lakes’ fourth and fifth phases will come onto the market next summer, he said.<\/p>\n
“It’s a blend of lots,” Comack said, with some slated for building what the company calls park lookout lots and others lake walk-out lots. These 40 lots will border Prairie View Lakes’ greenspace and lake, roughly at the centre of the total 250-acre development.<\/p>\n
“That’s a first for the La Salle market,” Comack said.<\/p>\n
Phase four will contain 1,300 square-foot duplex and detached bungalow-style condos. Comack said these homes should appeal to older people who want to downsize, but remain in La Salle, and possibly to grandparents with children and grandchildren also living in Prairie View Lakes.
Later this year, Ventura is opening Manness Family Park on four acres adjacent to Fourth Ave. Comack said it will contain hills, 50 six- to eight-foot tall trees and garden areas containing shrubs and flowers.<\/p>\n
Realtor Blake Vasko spoke about the local real estate market at the open house, sharing information on the real estate market in La Salle.<\/p>\n
He said the resale market is healthy which means a positive market for new construction. The prospect of paying lower property tax is helping attract Winnipeg buyers, as well as the chance to buy a 42-foot-wide lot in Prairie View Lakes for $10,000 to $20,000 less than the cost of a lot in one of Winnipeg’s new subdivisions.<\/p>\n
Vasko, who’s lived with his family in La Salle for the past eight years, said he knows what the community has to offer new residents. As well as the quiet of a rural setting, he said, the town’s residents are friendly and welcoming to new families.<\/p>\n
“La Salle’s got a great reputation for being community-minded,” Vasko said.<\/p>\n
