These Canada Games could not have occurred without your contribution and support, and we are deeply grateful that Manitobans continue to lead the country when it comes to volunteering.<\/p>\n
This summer has been chock-full of festivals and events throughout our city, but one celebration stands out in my mind as being essential for paying homage to our heritage in our community, and that is the St. Vital Agricultural Society’s Fair and Display. This year’s theme was tailored to commemorate Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation, and the exhibits and displays were phenomenal in helping tell the story of how important agriculture was to the settlement of the land we now call St. Vital. I want to offer a heartfelt thanks to co-presidents Karen Jack and Karen Irvine as well as the entire board of directors and all those who shared their exhibits with us. This year marked the 108th year for the Agricultural Society’s Fair and Display and I wish them many more years of promoting the contributions that agriculture has made to our community.<\/p>\n
In closing I would like to wish everyone a safe and happy summer and invite all of my Riel constituents to a Coffee & Conversation gathering in my constituency office at 5-140 Meadowood on Sept. 16 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. This is your opportunity to come and have a cup of coffee with me and share your thoughts or ideas on how our government can make Manitoba a better place to live, work, and raise a family.<\/p>\n
